A bowl is one of the oldest objects we make. The HAY Barro Bowl, designed by Portuguese designer Rui Pereira, honours that lineage without sentiment — a simple, generous form in terracotta, glazed in burgundy and crafted in Portugal from a material whose name, Barro, means ‘red clay’ in Portuguese.
The high-gloss burgundy glaze is rich and warm, deepening in certain lights and sitting naturally alongside other Barro pieces. Use the bowls for yoghurt at breakfast, soup at dinner, or something sweet on a quiet evening — they move from oven to table without complaint, and look better with every use. Sold as a set of two.
