Light should be able to go where you go. The HAY Pao Portable Lamp, designed by Naoto Fukasawa, makes that possible — a compact, battery-operated lamp in soft black polycarbonate that moves from room to room, from inside to outside, without losing any of its quiet authority.
Pao takes its name from the soft, glowing form of traditional Mongolian Pao tents. Fukasawa's approach is characteristically restrained: by keeping the aesthetics modest and simple, the lamp finds harmony with its environment rather than competing with it. The opal polycarbonate diffuser conceals the light source and produces a warm, even downlight — 10 hours of it per charge.
